March 12, 2025, Tokyo — Celsys today releases Clip Studio Paint Ver. 4.0, the newest version of the illustration, comic, webtoon, and animation app, for all major platforms. Updates include the ability to draw directly on 3D models, editing tools such as puppet warp and magnetic lasso, new filters “Lens Blur” and “Crystallize”, and animation features that make it easier to create and edit video files.

Ver. 4.0 includes all the features that have been added since Ver. 3.0 in 2024, plus many additional new features.

・Add subtitles and hand-drawn illustrations to filmed videos and export to post them online
Other updates include an improved interface for converting images to lines and tones, new animation functions based on feedback from animation studios, improvements to timelapse recording, and the addition of an in-app tutorial and hints to Simple Mode.
