For 10 years since its launch in 2012, Clip Studio Paint provided free function updates for the Windows and macOS versions of the one-time purchase version. From 2023, major updates are released annually, with new features available through subscription contracts or by paying an additional fee to update the version.
The one-time purchase version, which continues to be sold alongside the subscription model, supports the subscription model and maximizes revenue by contributing to revenue through promotions aimed at acquiring new users and by meeting the needs of users who are resistant to subscriptions.
In March 2025, Celsys will release another major update for Clip Studio Paint to Ver. 4.0. In addition, a global sales promotion will begin today to increase the number of units shipped, with the aim of raising sales and the number of users.
