Celsys released the latest July 2024 update for illustration, comic, webtoon, and animation app Clip Studio Paint worldwide on July 30. The new update includes new color filters and effects in Simple Mode, new shadow projection for 3D models, interface improvements, and improvements for animation projects. This feature update is available to monthly/annual plan subscribers and update pass holders, as early access to new features that will be available in future major versions.
● Fun filters and easy line extract tool have been added to Simple Mode
Color filters and effects such as blur have been added to Simple Mode, so creators can easily adjust illustrations while looking at a preview. Users can also now extract lines when importing images in Simple Mode, making it easier to color drawings made on paper.
● 3D models can now cast shadows onto other 3D models
On 3D layers, 3D models can now cast shadows onto other 3D models, not only the ground, for better reference.
● Better usability in Studio Mode
The default UI on desktop and tablet devices has been improved. Users can now adjust brush size and opacity with tool sliders as in Studio Mode on smartphones. In Studio Mode on tablets, the palette layout has been changed, making it easier to find tools and settings.
Other new features include animation improvements, redesign of the line extraction dialog, compatibility with BVH files, additional watermark features, new settings for exporting timelapses, and compatibility with Apple Pencil Squeeze.
