December 4, 2023, Tokyo – Illustration, comic, webcomic, and animation app Clip Studio Paint is teaming up with mobile comics platform Tapas to present the Webcomic Art Challenge from December 5, 2023, to January 16, 2024. A total of 20 winners will receive prizes including Clip Studio Paint EX licenses for creating artwork and Tapas Ink points for purchasing webcomics to read on the Tapas app.

Open to artists of all levels, the Webcomic Art Challenge includes both a coloring category and a “Draw This In Your Style (DTIYS)” category, with three themes for each category. Artists can join the contest by posting their entry on X (previously Twitter) or Instagram with the contest hashtag #TapasArtChallenge2023. The top three winners in the DTIYS category will receive a 12-month license for Clip Studio Paint EX, the higher grade of the app with extra features for creating webcomics.
During the event, up to 300 entrants can also apply for a free Clip Studio Paint DEBUT license (12 months, one device) to create their illustration. This grade of the app includes basic illustration tools for first-time digital artists.
Celsys will continue to sponsor comic and arts events with the aim of supporting comic art creators worldwide.
