Content Producer and Editor (joined as new graduate in 2023)

Lea Baumgaertner

― What kind of work do you do? What is the composition of the team and how are the roles assigned?
The production department's Content Team involves creating articles and videos for official drawing tutorials, preparing social media posts, creating 3D and stamp materials for Clip Studio Paint, creating explanatory illustrations, and more. Our team divides the tasks based on each employee's strengths. As the only overseas staff member of the Content Team, I am responsible for creating social media posts and translating, writing, and editing drawing courses (Art Rocket and Clip Studio TIPS) for international Clip Studio Paint users. Recently, I have been working on translating English tutorials on Art Rocket to other languages. We are constantly creating and sharing content to help artists around the world enjoy using Clip Studio Paint.
It is very fulfilling to support users behind the scenes through the social media posts and tutorials.

― How did you hear about Celsys and what made you decide to join us?
I've always loved drawing, and the first digital illustration app I used was Clip Studio Paint. I was looking for a job where I could use my language skills and pursue my interest in digital illustration, and Celsys was the perfect match for me.

― What do you focus on in your work?
My aim is to create content that helps beginners master Clip Studio Paint with ease. Although Clip Studio Paint has many functions and may seem complicated to beginners, our content aims to convey the fun of creating.

― What do you find challenging and enjoyable about your work?
I find it incredibly rewarding to create content for artists worldwide on a daily basis. I love drawing, and through my work, I have encountered various pieces of art by various artists, which has been a great inspiration and has made my work very fulfilling.
I have also acquired several new skills, such as using design software and website development, which is another enjoyable aspect of this job.

― What kind of work style and company culture does Celsys have?
Celsys offers a highly accommodating work environment for international employees.
It has been seven years since I came to Japan for university. Initially, I had concerns about working abroad, but the Celsys team has been incredibly welcoming. They have fostered an environment where it's easy to seek advice on unfamiliar matters, share my concerns, and discuss my future aspirations. I also communicate with international colleagues from other departments, which helps us develop strong working relationships.
We mostly work remotely but communication within our team is smooth thanks to the use of chat apps and other tools. I can work from the office when needed, which contributes to a satisfying work-life balance.

ー What do you want to do or achieve at Celsys in the future?
Currently, I am focused on creating drawing guides for Art Rocket and TIPS, but I would like to be involved in producing video tutorials in the future.

― Do you have a message for people from overseas who want to work in Japan?
This job involves sharing content with artists worldwide, so for those who are interested in illustrations or like to draw, it is a very rewarding experience and a great way to utilize your strengths.
Though international staff often use their own languages in their work, communication within the department is generally in Japanese, so it’s important to continue studying Japanese.
I would be happy to work with anyone interested in content production, editing, or illustrations.
Let's do our best together!
