Japan Expo is an all-round Japanese culture convention that is held for four days every year in early July. The event is dedicated to more than just manga, anime, and video games, featuring other subjects including martial arts, fashion, music, film, and other Japanese cultural traditions. Many prominent speakers from a variety of backgrounds, including renowned illustrators, popular streamers, and YouTubers also attend the event.

Japan Expo 2023

Celsys exhibited at Japan Expo 2023 held in Paris, France in July 2023 in collaboration with publishers and vocational schools in the manga field.

Celsys was the main sponsor of Mangas.io, the first subscription-based manga reading app in Europe, at its booth, Quartier Manga. The Quartier Manga booth was a realistic, immersive booth decorated to resemble a Japanese side street. It had over 13 companies from the manga and anime industry, including comic publishers Kana, Nouvelle Hydre, and Nazca online streaming platform ADN, as well as distributor giant FNAC.

Clip Studio Paint’s functions were introduced at the booth, activation codes for three months of use of Clip Studio Paint EX were distributed, and live drawing sessions using Clip Studio Paint were also held on stage.

Clip Studio Paint also exhibited at a joint booth with Human Academy Europe, a manga, animation, and game school in Angoulême, France. In the demonstration area, the school's students showed how to use the app on a variety of devices, including tablets, iPads, and smartphones.

Attracting more than 250,000 visitors over the four days, Japan Expo 2023 also featured autograph sessions by France-based artists, games, live demonstrations, and a live drawing contest.

Celsys exhibited the winning entries of the International Comic/Manga School Contest 2022 at Japan Expo Paris 2022, an all-round Japanese culture convention held in July 2022.

The booth delighted visiting manga fans with displays of this year’s winning works, including kanins’ Grand Prize-winning work, PAGPAG, as well as some entries from previous years’ contests. There was also a high interest in the contest among Expo visitors, many of whom asked about next year’s contest, and how they could participate.

After a three-year hiatus, Japan Expo Paris 2022 attracted more than 200,000 visitors across the four days it was held.
